Second Half of the Final Week
Wednesday 28th
Today we had a lazy relaxing day. After breakfast on the balcony we took the bus to Typhoon Lagoon. We put on our swimming gear walked over to the Lazy River, climbed into our “dinghies” and just floated around. We did four circuits before climbing out. The environment isn’t conducive to cameras etc but I’ve looked on YouTube and is some footage that shows just how relaxing this is. Once out we dried in the hot sun then changed and left the park. We had to change buses at Disney Springs so we took advantage of the situation and wandered around buying a few more things. When done we boarded the bus back to the billet. Here we sat and enjoyed the tranquility of our balcony until it was time to go downstairs to the Boom restaurant within the complex. Here we had another lovely meal accompanied by a glass of champagne each compliments of Disney because the waitress noticed the badges we were wearing. We left the restaurant and returned to the balcony to watch the sun go down.
Thursday 29th
Today we returned the the Animal Kingdom park. We started off walking around the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. We decided to to this first while we had the energy. It is a fantastic walk, really interesting. From there we took another truck ride on the Kilimanjaro Safari truck. We followed this with a Lion King tribute show. After lunch we moved over to “Asia” where we took a ride on the Kali River Rapids ride and got soaked but in the Florida sun you don’t stay wet for long. We then went to Its a Bug Life show, again very funny but nevertheless educational. From there we went on two more “expeditions” one on the Maharaja Jungle trek to see monkeys, bats and a Komodo Dragon. Unfortunately the tigers are not in display. Our final visit of the day was walk a massive aviary where the birds are free.
We then left the park to return to the billet for tonight we are having our “End of Course Dinner” After we’d relaxed and caught our breath then we changed and took the courtesy bus to the Kidani village, other lodge in the resort to find the Sanaa restaurant. Having located it we sat outside watching the animals until we were summoned to our table. We had a lovely meal which concluded with a special Happy Anniversary dessert provided by Disney. We then took the courtesy bus back to Jambo Lodge.
Friday 29th
Our last full day. After a relaxing start we took the bus to the Magic Kingdom. On our arrival the parade was just coming through and ahead of it were photographers with boards for Special occasions but by the time we realised what it was all about they’d gone.so after the parade had passed I found a photographer told her we’d missed the boat, “ not to worry” she said, went to her office collected the prop and took our photo as a one off special treat. We wandered about the park, visited a show then did a couple of rides. We then walked back to the entrance where today’s restaurant is located. Next to it is a theatre and we thought we’d take in a show before we ate but discovered it’s not a show but a personal photo shoot with Mickey, so we just had to do it. We then had a superb Italian meal and returned to the billet to pack. We then sat out on the balcony looking at the stars.
