Caribbean Beach Resort
Blog 11th -15th April
Put it down to jet lag but I noticed the last blog was dated 11/4/22 which was actually the date it was posted but it actually refers to what happened on the 10th. Here goes w it’s the remainder of our stay at the Caribbean Beach resort.
Monday 11th
Today we ventured to the Magic Kingdom using the shuttle bus from the resort. Once in the resort we had lunch and walked round to Adventureland and had go on Big Thunder Mountain from there we went to Splash Mountain both quite adventurous for us. The latter ride caused us to get a little wet but the heat of the day soon dried us off. s we came off this ride so a parade passed through which we stood, watched and photographed. We were advised to go on the the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as it is sedate. Who were they kidding! After the ride we went to the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. We left the restaurant with a view to retuning to the billet but as we walked we back we came across the Chrystal Glass store. We have lovely piece of glass work commemorating our marriage so we went to se if we could get one for the Golden.we could so we did. This did mean waiting in the park for a little longer but it was fun and we had a couple more photo shoots. We collected our glass ware and made it back to the billet.
Tuesday 12th
Today we took the courtesy bus to Typhoon Lagoon one of the water parks. We stripped to our swim wear and made for the Lazy River where you simply sit on an inflated chair and let the current take you round. We did three circuits but because the water keeps you cool you don’t realise what the sun is doing to your skin. Fortunately no harm done and with after sun lotion we were fine. We then returned to the resort. A purely relaxing day.
Wednesday 13th
The thirteenth, unlucky for some, certainly lived up to its name. During the night we received an email from the cruise company stating our Covid documentation wasn’t up to standard and we were not to enter the port. As far as we were concerned all was ok. We took a trip up to reception and spoke to a young man named Paul. He took over our problem and was on the phone for over an hour but at the end of it he said “All sorted” so we left there happy. We made our was to the Sky Line (cable car) and went to EPCOT. We wandered around this fascinating park and took a couple of rides. We then found the Coral Reef restaurant where we had a love meal looking into a gigantic aquarium. A lovely setting. After we’d eaten we went on an attraction called Through Station Earth., very interesting. It was time to return but as we made our way across the park the Sky Line was at the opposite end so we used the Monorail, unfortunately we alighted one stop too soon so we then had to get the ferry to the bus terminal. Not that that was a problem, in fact it was fortuitous as we we were able to get a photo shoot at the park entrance. We boarded the bus and travelled back. I was wearing a “Thin Blue Line” mask and a couple of people recognised it for what it was and thanked me for my service then the whole bus joined in. This made me so proud it overcome the anxiety I had all day.
Thursday 14th
The day started with another email from the cruise line stating there were still issues so we went straight to reception saw Paul who made a call and assured us all was well. We then went to the Hollywood studios via the Sky Line. Here my first stop was to book a time for the Tower of Terror. With that done we wandered around had drink until my allocated time came. Val waited outside and being alone it didn’t take long to complete. We managed a couple more photoshoots then we watched a 3D Muppet show, still as funny as it was fifty years ago. We then went to eat at the Fifties Prime Time cafe where we ate our meal watching excepts of programmes we watched as children such as “I love Lucy” and “I Married Joan” We then experienced a ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. With that done we took the Sky Line to Caribbean Beach.
Friday 15th
A lazy day, sorting things out we then took a trip into Disney Springs visiting some shops including the Coca Cola store. What a magnificent shop this was, it had everything such a shame we have weight limitations. It was too early for dinner so we returned to the billet finalised the packing then returned to the Springs for something to eat. We found a lovely restaurant called the Wolfgang Punch. Whilst there was a long wait for a table we could go straight in if we ate ate the bar. This suited us so in we went. We came out found our bus and caught a glimpse of the fireworks on the way home.
Nice to hear all the fun you've had at Disney, they never fail to deliver.
